Composition Lessons (MuCT 616/416)

The purpose of private composition lessons is to further hone your skills as a composer through the development of your ideas (within the context of writing a new composition), identifying your strengths and weaknesses as a composer, and broadening your historical perspective by placing your work within the greater historical context. To achieve these goals, you will write at least one new piece of music this semester and will study the scores and recordings of other composers.
